Rental rates are all up in the Denver metro area, even though vacancy rates are also up! What is going on here…

Year over year, average apartment rental rates increased by 10 percent in the metro area, according to the Apartment Association of Metro Denver. The increase came in spite of a jump in the average apartment vacancy rate increasing from 4.6% to 6.8%.

Average rent in metro Denver topped $1,291 per month compared with $1,168 per month one year ago.
